4. Large-Scale Base Maps for Climate Action
This Component will be implemented by the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), the national mapping authority of Indonesia. It will support geospatial data acquisition and digital map production.
4. Large-Scale Base Maps for Climate Action
The Component consists of:
- Production of Large-scale Geospatial Data and Utilization. Supporting generation and utilization of large-scale base maps of the Target Areas by using tailored technologies for remotely sensed geospatial data production, including: (a) production of 3D geospatial data and maps in urban, rural and forested areas; (b) geospatial data for climate action; ( c) improvement of geospatial framework for precise and reliable models for climate change impact assessment; ( d) geospatial dataset for Village Boundary Setting at a technical agreement level; and (e) technical capacity training.
- Data Production System and Capacity Building. Supporting (a) the establishment of integrated map production (financed under Part 4.1 of the Project), distribution, and quality control systems in BIG's existing data center to sustainably maintain geospatial data; and (b) the use of geospatial information and capacity building for a sustainable geospatial ecosystem.
